    1010The two most basic operations that will be carried out using this subsystem are the generation of signals and their observation in different domains (time and frequency).  Experimenters should be provided with interfaces for the same. While designing these interfaces, the following points should be carefully considered.

Commands to the instruments can potentially take a large number of arguments, some of which are instrument-specific or even implementation-specific and require a thorough understanding of how the instrument functions. As far as the experimenters are concerned, they should be able to generate signals according to their specifications.
