= DARPA Spectrim Challenge = [[TOC(DSC*,depth=2)]] ORBIT was chosen to host the [http://www.darpa.mil/spectrumchallenge/ DARPA Spectrum Challenge] - a competition in designing radio systems that work well in (heavily) interference limited communication environments. These pages are used to disseminate information regarding the arena and various technical aspects of the challenge. The desgins will be implemented in a software defined radio platform centered around radio development kit (RDK) that is based on [http://www.ettus.com Ettus Research ] [http://www.ettus.com/product/details/UN210-KIT/ USRP N210] and [http://www.ettus.com/product/details/SBX SBX RF Front-end]. Each RDK is attached to one of the [wiki:Hardware/hNodes/cNodeVer3/aMain/bLV67G generation 3 nodes] in the ORBIT main grid which is the main venue for the competition. In addition, number of [wiki:Hardware/bDomains/cSandboxes#Sandboxes sandboxes] are available for code development. == Hurdles == First step in Spectrum Challenge is a three step qualification process that will be used to determine the Challenge contestants. The three hurdles are intended to demonstrate: * [wiki:DSC/Hurdle1 Hurdle 1 - Understanding of basic ORBIT operation] * [wiki:DSC/Hurdle2 Hurdle 2 - Understanding of basic USRP/SDR radio operation] * [wiki:DSC/Hurdle3 Hurdle 3 - Design of radio systems capable of handling noisy environments] == Wildcard tournament == == Preliminary round == == Final round ==
